Set up Askenly so clients book from your DMs

Your steps are Talk, Book and Follow up: common questions get answered while you’re with a client, “are you free Friday?” gets three real open times, and confirmations and reminders go out on their own. Here is the order to set them up in.

Your setup, step by step

Set up your services and hours first, because the booking replies are built from them.

  1. Connect your Instagram account

Sign up free, then connect Instagram with Instagram’s own sign-in. You need a Business or Creator account; no Facebook Page is needed. Askenly uses Instagram’s official API, so your account stays yours.

  2. Add your business details

In Settings, under Business profile, add your address, opening hours and the things clients always ask. Replies and suggested drafts use only what you write here.

  3. Create your services

In Appointments, add each service with its length, any break before or after, and how much notice you need. You can ask clients questions on the booking page and require your approval before a booking is confirmed.

  4. Set your availability

Choose your working hours and time zone, and optionally a daily maximum. Connect Google Calendar or Outlook so busy times in your calendar are never offered.

  5. Choose Book an appointment

In Automations, create an automation and pick Book an appointment, then Comment to DM, Story to DM or DM to DM. Askenly offers three open times and a reply of 1, 2 or 3 books it.

  6. Test it in Test mode

Book yourself from the preview. Test bookings stay in your browser and are never emailed or counted, so you can try it as often as you like.

Talk: answer questions while you work

Use Answer questions for the things people ask every day.

Saved answers

Add a question, a few keywords and your answer, such as where you are, parking or prices. Askenly matches the keywords even with small typos.

Hand-off when it matters

Anything your answers don’t cover can move to your Inbox with the reason, and automations pause for that person while you reply yourself.

Your address with a map

Story replies asking where you are get your saved address, so clients can find you without another message.

Follow up: emails that go out on their own

Every booking sends a confirmation with any instructions you add for that service, and a reminder before the appointment. Clients can reschedule or cancel from their own link if the service allows it.

After an appointment you can turn on a follow-up email, and a no-show email for missed ones. Each customer email can be switched off, and booking is always free for your clients.

Before you tell clients to message you

  • Every service has a length and appears on your booking page.
  • Your hours and time zone match when you actually work.
  • Your calendar is connected, if you keep one.
  • You booked yourself in Test mode and saw the times you expected.
  • Your Business profile has your address and the answers to common questions.

Setup questions from salons and coaches

How many services can I add?

Free includes 1 service, Starter 3 services and Growth 10 services. Scale has no limit.

Can clients book without messaging me?

Yes. Every workspace gets a public booking page you can put in your bio or send in a DM, built from the same services and hours.

What if someone asks for a time in their own words?

Askenly understands replies like “Tuesday afternoon” or “more times” and offers matching open times from your availability.
