What the Analytics page shows
Performance over the selected period
Conversations, leads and appointments for the dates you pick. Turn on Compare with previous period to see the same length of time before it.
Conversion journey
How many people moved from a comment or message, to a conversation, to a lead, to a booking. A big drop between two steps shows where to work.
Top content
The posts and Reels that produced the most leads and bookings, which is often different from the ones with the most likes.
Automation performance
Each automation’s results side by side, so you can see which ones are worth copying to your next post.
What each number means
| Number | What counts |
|---|---|
| Conversation | A chat with one person in the period, started by a comment, Story reply or DM. |
| Lead | Someone who tapped a button, passed a follow check or shared an email. |
| Appointment | A booking made in the DM or on your booking page. Test bookings never count. |
| DMs delivered | Messages Instagram confirmed. Failed sends are shown separately on each automation. |
Results for one automation
Open an automation from Automations to see its own numbers for the last 30 days: DMs delivered and failed, qualified leads (button and follow taps plus emails captured) and the number its goal counts. That’s link clicks for Deliver, followers gained for Grow, bookings for Book, revenue for Get more sales and questions answered for Answer questions.
The Activity tab lists what it did recently, and the Analytics tab shows its results over time.
One account at a time
With more than one Instagram account connected, Analytics shows the account picked in the header switcher. Bookings and contacts that belong to the whole workspace, such as people who booked from your booking page, count under every account.
Import your own numbers
If you track results somewhere else, Import your metrics on the Analytics page takes a CSV file with one row per day and columns for date, conversations, leads and appointments, up to 1,000 days at a time. The chart then shows the imported numbers. Clear the import to go back to your live data.
Check how a post is doing
Pick the period
Open Analytics and choose the dates you want, such as the week since the post went live.
Find the post in Top content
See how many outcomes it produced next to your other posts and Reels.
Open its automation
The automation’s own page shows its DMs, leads and goal result for the last 30 days.
Change one thing and compare
Try a clearer keyword or a shorter opening DM, then compare the next period with this one.
Read the numbers well
- Compare periods of the same length, such as this week and last week.
- Judge a new automation after a few days of real traffic, not the first hour.
- A high number of failed sends usually means Allow access to messages is off in the Instagram app.
- Change one thing at a time, so you know what made the difference.
Home and Business Momentum
Home gives a quick read before you open Analytics. Business Momentum shows how this period compares with the last for the selected account, and once activity starts, Recent activity and Conversation momentum take the place of the Get started cards.
Analytics is where you go for the detail: longer periods, the conversion journey and each post and automation side by side.
Using the conversion journey
Read the journey from left to right and look for the biggest drop. If many people comment but few open a conversation, the keyword or caption isn’t clear enough, or Allow access to messages is off. If plenty of conversations start but few become leads, the opening DM or its button label isn’t pulling people through; make it shorter and say exactly what they get.
If leads don’t turn into bookings, look at the times you offer. Wider hours, a shorter minimum notice or a more open booking window usually help more than rewording the message. For Get more sales, compare emails collected with clicks and revenue on the automation’s page.
Analytics questions
How far back does Analytics go?
Pick any period since your workspace started collecting data, or import older numbers with a CSV file.
Why don’t my numbers match Instagram Insights?
Instagram Insights counts reach, views and likes. Askenly counts conversations, leads and bookings from its automations, which Instagram doesn’t measure.
Are test bookings and test emails counted?
No. Test mode bookings and test emails never appear in Analytics.
